Nursery #2

I've slowly been getting things ready for the nursery and am getting excited to redecorate! I haven't gotten the curtains back yet, but I did get the prints I ordered from etsy.

Here are the 3 prints I ordered. She customized them for me, because I wanted to change them a little. These are 8x10 and I put them in a white matted frame. Still have to hang them...

And this one is a big 16x20 poster size. I'll probably put it at the top of the bookshelf and just lean it.

I ordered them from a store on Etsy called: SeaUrchinStudio. Their stuff is super cute!

Dejavu

Ellie is always ready to go shopping!
What a great weekend! My OB check up on Friday went well. Everything is looking good, but she wants me to take it easy. I'll be working 3 days a week until the baby comes. This will help with the fatigue and stress that I've been having lately. I don't talk much about work on this blog, but the past 3 months have been really busy for me. I just created a very important web site for our company that goes live on Wednesday. I'm very excited and proud of it! Going down to 3 days a week couldn't have come at a better time. My plan is to catch up on some sleep and have some special time with Ellie before the baby comes.

We had a very busy weekend. It's hard when Nick is away, but my mom and dad helped me a lot. We took a drive down to Ikea (dejavu again) and I picked up a few more things for Ellie's room and returned some stuff. Of course we stopped and got some Japanese food and hit up the outlet mall. I found a few cute things for baby #2 too. We also stopped at Portillo's for a hot dog.  Below is a cute picture of Ellie eating... I think she ate a little too much, because she threw up a little :(  She did love the salad though!

Finally Friday!

Nick's out of town for a golf tournament.... so what does that mean? Shopping for Ellie and Mama! :) We need to make another trip to Ikea and the Container store and anywhere else we feel is necessary. Ellie's room is coming along and I can't wait until it's finished and she is soundly sleeping in her new bed. Until then, she'll continue sitting in her new chair and 'visiting' her new room.

Happy Friday!

Honeydew

I can't believe I'm 30 weeks already, but I also can't believe I have 8 more to go. My c-section is scheduled on 8/26, a week before my due date. Tomorrow I have another check up to see how my cervix is doing. I'm not sure how much longer I have to do the shots either - hopefully not too long.  So, it looks like I only have 3 more different types of veggies/fruits to go. I never did get to the watermelon size with Ellie. I mean I was that big, but delivered before 37 weeks. This baby is measuring 2 weeks bigger too, so I think I'm probably more like the honeydew than the squash.

Nesting or shopping addiction?

I've been thinking about things I need to get for the new baby. I feel like I have everything, but then I'm like... um I need diapers, clothes (I have nothing for him, except a 2T REI vest), another baby monitor, stroller, crib sheets, blankets (most of the ones I have are girly) and the list goes on....

I saw this new blanket style and LOVE it. And why the heck didn't I think of it? Ellie still uses a sleep blanket sack thingy. This one is so cool, because you can change their diaper without disturbing too much. Because if you check on them in the middle of the night and smell something, you can't just go to bed and pretend you didn't smell anything... you have to change them. right?

Picture catch up

I realize that the pictures below are from Easter.... that is because I haven't been keeping up with archiving my photos from my camera. So, I'm playing a little catch up.

Another weekend flies by...

WOW! We had a great, productive weekend. Ellie, my mom and I headed down to Ikea on Saturday and filled up the car - to the max. We were even going to go back in after we got it all loaded because we had some extra room, but I think we'll go back down there in a few weeks. I need to get some more 'necessities' anyways :) So, we bought a bunch of stuff, which I will post pictures of soon. My dad came over and put Ellie's new bed (crib) together and also her new bookcase from Ikea. Ellie and I cleaned and wiped down her new closet. Here's a video of her helping me. She's such a good helper and I didn't even ask her to! She just grabbed some paper towel and copied me. She's so cute, isn't she?

sneaky girl or baby bunny?

My mom and I went to the grocery store yesterday with Ellie in tow. I'm not a fan of grocery shopping, but I do like good food. We bought a lot of good stuff including strawberries. On our way home, Ellie was pretty quiet in the backseat, but she had been quiet for the last couple of hours for some reason (at Menards and the furniture store) - I just figured she was chilling out and enjoying the cool weather. As I was driving home and talking to my mom, I remember thinking how strong those strawberries smelt in the back seat. When we got home, my mom went to get Ellie out of the backseat, and I could hear her mutter something in Japanese while laughing. When I got back there, Ellie was holding the big strawberry container and had strawberry stains all over her mouth. I laughed so hard, my stomach hurt. She is SO sneaky. This just confirmed my accusations of Ellie. She just helped herself to the strawberries and had a snack on the way home.

The funny thing is, she just didn't eat a few, she picked threw half of the container and nibbled on a bunch of them. Her bites are so cute. Here's the evidence. Of course I had to save them and show Nick.

3rd Tri

I'm now in my last trimester! Yesterday was a great day, not because I had to sit at the doctor's office from 8 until 2, but because I passed my glucose screening and everything is looking good with my cervix. So, I treated myself to a hot chocolate and bagel from Panera (it's cold again) and bought a few necessary items from Kohls. I'm over 28 weeks now, but the baby is measuring 2 weeks bigger. I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but since I'm having a c-section, I won't have to worry too much about him not fitting. Also, the baby is about 3 and a half pounds! That is what my doc said. I was surprised because all the websites say that the baby is just under 2 1/2.

This weekend should be pretty productive. I need to go to Ikea and get some stuff for Ellie's new bedroom. I haven't told Nick my plan yet, but he's going golfing on Sunday, so I think it will be a good compromise. lol.

weekend

I know everyone is excited about this warm weather and I would totally be too, if I didn't have a built in heater on the front of my body and if my feet and hands didn't swell like sausages!!  I'm just very grateful for air conditioning.

This weekend was awesome.  Friday I went to see my friend Amy's new house. She moved to Erin into this cute forest setting home. The big shady trees are awesome and it's so private. She still has a lot she wants to change and decorate, but I can't wait until she is done.

We had a graduation party on Saturday for our neighbor girl across the street. Ellie had so much fun running around and loved being outside. After about 3 hours of sun, I could tell she was ready to go. She had really rosie cheeks and threw her glasses off several times. When she throws her glasses, we know she is NOT happy. It's pretty dramatic. After eating dinner and napping Nick and I went back over there to hang out. I wasn't going to stay, but the baby monitor reached and had great reception, so I hung out with all the drinkers, while Ellie slept in her crib. Video monitors are the best invention. I'm on the look out for another one, since I will still want one on Ellie and the baby.
Sunday was awesome, because we went over to visit my parents. Ellie hasn't seen my mom in 3 weeks and she really missed her. We hung out awhile and of course I fell asleep on the couch. Then we went to Stein's and bought some flowers for our empty flower pots. We ended the day with ice cream with Wendi and (bf) Nick* and then a movie before bed time.

Here are some pictures of Nick and Ellie hanging out on the swing set at our neighbors... which by the way we are going to buy from them and put in our backyard.  Yah!

How big is baby?

27 Weeks. I feel like it's been going by a little slow, even though I'm almost 7 months. Another week and I'll be in my 3rd Trimester! Wahoo! I have to go in for my 3 hour Blood Glucose test next week. I had to do it with Ellie and it sucks. I'll read some magazines, but it's not relaxing and drinking that stuff is gross. I know I'm not being very positive, but it does suck. I think that they should have a massage therapist there to massage your feet and legs while you wait. Maybe I'll suggest it :)

Spaghetti, sharing and sillyness

This video of Ellie giving Meeko a lick off of her spoon isn't even that bad. Usually she actually has a scoopful of food. This grosses me out, but sometimes it is nice when Meeko can lick up the crumbs on the floor :)

Orange!

Well.... I finally found the fabric for the baby's room. I know it's not babyish or boyish, but I think it will work. This was one of Nick's favorites too, until the lady was figuring out the measurements and that we needed 10 yards. Unfortunately Nick is pretty good at math, so he knew how much it was pretty quickly. That's when he wanted to see what else there was, since the fabric we chose was basically the only one that was not 40% off. So, I let him browse some more and then I said that we'd just have to go to another store. That closed the deal and we got the fabric. This goes so well with the color of the walls in the room, which are a dark indigo blue.  I think if we decide to turn the room back into an office someday, we can even keep this up. Now I'm off to find some cute prints on Etsy. :)
