Updates

Ok, so of course I'm impatient, so I'm not waiting until next week to talk about our changes. It might not seem like a big deal, but it is to me and more importantly to my family! WCTC asked me to teach a Web Page Design class this semester and I've accepted. Being off for the last year from teaching has been nice, but after giving it a lot of thought, we decided it is something that will probably pay off in the end just in case my full-time job doesn't survive. I really like my full-time job, but don't want to put all my eggs in this basket, because the basket my not be around forever. So, that is part of the news...

The other part, is that I'm not going to be full-time anymore. I've been thinking about it for awhile and now that baby Silas is here and I'm teaching part-time,  I've decided to go down to 4 days a week. Fridays will be my day to be with my babies - Ellie and Jack. This will definitely give our home/work life a better balance. I don't want to have regrets one day, so I'm super excited that we decided to do this. When I say 'we', I mean convincing Nick and my Mom. I think they think I'm super woman, which might be partially true (not), but those are some high expectations that just fill me with guilt most of the time. So yah for ME! I do have mixed feelings about teaching again though. It's such a struggle, because one moment I love it and the next I hate it and want to vomit. It definitely pushes me out of my comfort zone. Last night was my first class. I have 16 students right now and I'm sure there will be a couple that drop out, but it seems like a good group. I would say most of them are non-traditional students, meaning they are retired or going back to school. I even have an older man in his late 70's or even 80's! He's a retired engineer. Seems really interesting. Then of course I have the 19 year olds right out of high school who make the class fun and crazy. Even though I'm the instructor, being in school, feels like "being in school". I'm already looking forward to Thanksgiving break! We booked our trip to Arizona with Ellie and Jack. I'm looking forward to it, but really scared! A four hour flight with 2 little kids might be a disaster. I'm super excited and feel like I should start packing. Haha!

Happy Friday and happy weekend! (Silas is coming home this weekend :)

Back to work (again)

Well, I've only been back to work for a day and a half and it doesn't even feel like I had off for 11 days. I know I shouldn't complain since I had a long 4 month maternity leave. Thank god my vacation days start over in January and I have 6 weeks this year! (this does include any sick days I have to take though too) It sounds like a lot of time off, but I will go through them fast. I'm already trying to plan a mini-vaca. Skiing would be great since I didn't go at all last year (I was too busy baking baby Jack). I have to get going on research (I'd love to go to Utah) and then of course convince Nick.

Here are some pictures of Ellie and Jack just being goofy.

monkey see monkey do!

Ellie is saying "EYE, WOVE, U!"

Jack is falling and Ellie is trying to lift him up by his head (good thing he has a big head). haha!

Weekend

This weekend was awesome, but of course it flew by. Now that I'm back to work, the weekends are going to go so fast and not come soon enough. Friday wasn't as bad as I thought. My co-workers threw me a little breakfast get together (we always have food in our department) and my friends Olga and Jane got me beautiful flowers!

Friday night, Nick went to our bowling league and I decided to stay home. I got to stay home with Ellie and Jack. My two favorites! We ordered pizza and played in Jack's room. Here are some pictures:

The rest of the weekend consisted of cleaning out the garage and basement, getting the Christmas decorations ready for the day after thanksgiving, movies (Crazy, Stupid Love and The Change Up  - both were hilarious) and I even got a nap in! I'm looking forward to the short week and the 4 day weekend!

Back to work

One more day and I'm back to work. It's pretty bittersweet as I have enjoyed my time home with Ellie and Jack. Since Ellie is in daycare twice a week, it will help with watching Jack too. Although he is such an easy, mellow baby and is always happy. I'm really lucky that my mom is taking care of them and it keeps her mind going and young. She does spoil them a lot, but that is okay :) I think I saved enough days to take off over Christmas and of course will have off for Thanksgiving, that time will be here before I know it! I get a ton of vacation days starting in January, so I'll be able to take off whenever I feel like it or if my mom just needs a break. Here's a video of Ellie and Jack. I will cherish these moments forever and am so glad I take these videos.

Back to the norm

Well... I'm back at work. It was wonderful to have off for 12 days straight, although I have to admit it's hard work!! I really miss my Ellie. Here is a picture of her being a little sneaky. Doesn't she look guilty!
