On Sunday we celebrated Jack's baptism and first birthday. I posted a bunch of pictures taken at our house of the festivities. There are a lot of pictures, so I'll post the baptism photos as part 2.
Jack's birthday isn't until Aug 23, but it was nice to have one big party for both. Most parents baptize their children shortly after they are born, but we've seem to wait almost a year. We did the same thing with Ellie. Time gets away and it's actually kind of nice to have them be coherent during this special time. ok... that's my justification as to why we wait so long :)
It was such a beautiful day. The weather was perfect, but a little cool to go in the kiddie pool. Having the bounce house was fun and it really tired Ellie out! Jack enjoyed his chocolate cake and the food was awesome. I forgot to take a picture of it, but we had quite the spread. I decided to do a Mexican theme, since most people are so tired of hot dogs and burgers. Sue made a two delicious enchiladas (chicken and veggie) and Nick (wendi's) made one too. They were awesome! We also had tacos, salsa, guacamole, corn bread muffins, all the fixings, fruit, cookies, cake and ice cream. It was all so yummy.
I had a circus animal theme, since we'll probably do the car, truck, superhero theme when he gets older. Jack is still a baby, so I can do baby things for him :) |

We gave Jack the giant teddy bear from Coscto. Yup - we were those parents getting their kid a big stuffed animal. I think it's cool. Ellie and Jack loved it. |
