First time swimming!

The other week my mom and dad took Ellie to the Country Inn and Springs Waterpark in Pewaukee. I was nervous about them taking her, but knew she would end up loving it. I have some video that they took too, but I have to figure out the best way to upload those to here. I got a really cute swimsuit for Ellie and of course she's wearing swimming diapers. She had a lot of fun and didn't even want to eat because she wanted to stay in the water. It's not like Ellie to not want to eat.

Too fast

I did some organizing of Ellie's clothes the other day. I know we have to start figuring out the baby's room and Ellie's room, so I thought this small task would be a good start. There was so much stuff that is just too snug for her. She is growing way too fast and it makes me sad :(  The pictures below were only take a couple months ago and she looks so little here. The little hoody she is wearing is getting too tight, so we packed it away.  I can't believe how time flies. I really, really don't like it.

This is what goes on at our house.

I take Meeko to the vet once a year, at the beginning of the year. I'm afraid to take him this year. They are going to say he's fat :(  He's not even that chubby. In fact, since Ellie's been eating solid foods ( 15 months now) Meeko has been eating very healthy meals. Salmon, rice, soybeans, fish, seaweed, yogurt, bananas and any other healthy Japanese food my mom gives Ellie. I've caught Ellie numerous times giving Meeko food or accidently dropping it on the floor. The best one was when I saw her hold her yogurt spoon out on the side of her high chair tray for him to 'get a taste'. I'm sure this happens more than I want to know.  It's great that Ellie shares, but I don't think Meeko needs to be eating organic cereal or carrot crackers!  She thinks it's the funniest thing ever though, which makes me laugh :)
Ellie snacking on her cereal and crackers. Occasionally, accidentally dropping them for Meeko. As if he doesn't get enough food when she's eating in her high chair.

Meeko following Ellie (she has her treats in her shopping cart).

Not taking his eye off the treats.

hehehe!

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail!

Besides the snow this weekend, it was a good one! Sunday, we took Ellie (aka little bunny) to her first Easter Egg hunt. It was a little windy, but her bunny hat kept her warm. It was at the park in our subdivision and so many kids showed up!  Ellie was shy at first, but she warmed up after a little bit. I was surprised that she picked up the eggs and put them in the basket. It was so cute.  Below are some pictures I took at the hunt.

This picture cracks me up because she really wanted to take this egg with her, which was fine, except now it's her new best friend.

This picture is after her nap. She went to bed with it and woke up with it.

Here she is using her left hand to eat (she's a righty) because she would not put down the egg.

Ellie also ate dinner with it, took it in her bath and to bed that night. The only time she gave it up was when she had opened it and wanted it closed back together. She's so silly!

Half way there!

WOW! I can't believe how time flies. I am 5 months today, so that means I am half way there. I think most pregnant woman complain how long it takes, but I feel like it's zooming by. I told Nick last night that the baby is as big as a cantaloupe. He was shocked. I think it's hard for guys to really understand what is going on in their and with how much the body changes. I've been watching "Pregnant in Heels" on Bravo and love it! There is a husband on their that doesn't understand why his sex life has changed. DUH! So Rosie put a 40 lb pregnant belly on him and made him golf and lay on the ground to see how it's like. I think he got the picture. I'm tired a lot, but I can't complain too much because this pregnancy is going good.

I'm getting anxious about starting on decorating the baby's nursery. I think I've pretty much decided that Ellie will go upstairs in her own room. I'll probably buy a convertible crib and put her in that at first since she'll only be a little over 2 years when the baby comes. I just hope she likes it up there. Right now we have a twin bed, tall dresser and a long horizontal dresser with a mirror that will also be in her room. It was my old bedroom set when I was little. I also have to get new drawer handles because one is missing and I kind of want to change it up anways. The baby will of course keep all of Ellie's furniture in his room and I'll make it more boyish with new curtains and pictures. So right now, I'm on the look out for cute boyish fabric and some art!

Anxious

Yesterday was a very exciting day! I was anxious all day to get the ultrasound going. Below is a scanned image of one of the ultrasound pictures. I wish I had more pictures, but they all look like this!!  The baby is basically facing outwards looking at you. It's kind of creepy, but so cool. You can see the eye sockets, nose, hands, stomach and little legs. As the ultrasound tech was doing the routine measurements that they needed to get, I kept looking to see if I could see anything. I finally asked her if she could tell what the sex was and she said was trying to get a different angle. I thought, hmmm... maybe because it's a girl she can't see. Then all of a sudden, she said, "see that little thing there?" I was shocked! She said that looks like it could be a boy, but can't say 100%. They never can say 100%, but I finally got out of her that she was 95% sure.  The baby looks healthy and everything looks normal and Ellie is going to have a baby brother. I think Nick was a little more excited than me, but only because I would have bet money that it was a girl. I felt so sure of it.

There are lots of things I have to learn about boys, their equipment, needs, and who knows what else! I'm so excited to go shopping, redesigning his room and start thinking of names.

M for mango or male?

I love fridays and the weekends, but I'm really excited for Monday. It can't come soon enough! Monday I will have an ultrasound to find out if it's a boy or girl. I'm just over 19 weeks and the baby is the size of a large mango. Does that mean it will be a male or does that mean the baby's name should start with an M?

I can't  wait to start planning and thinking about names. This time I have a strong feeling it's a girl, but I also thought Ellie was going to be a boy. It would be nice if Ellie had a sister, but a boy would be a whole new experience. It's a little scarey to think about having a boy, they have more equipment and I have no experience with a boy. Plus if it's a boy, I'll have some fun shopping to do as well! :)

What do you all think? Boy or girl? I'll let you know Monday afternoon.

ARGHHH MATEY!

Ellie is a pirate! Well sort of. For two hours a day she will be playing 'pirate'. Isn't she cute! I know I always say this, but I really think she is cute:)  Ellie had her follow-up ophthalmalogist appointment for her vision last night and the doc decided to patch her good eye, so that she will be forced to use her weaker eye and it should get stronger.  Her prescription stays the same and we'll go back in 6 weeks to see how the patching works.

A couple of pics

I didn't take many pictures in Vegas, but here are a couple I did get. This is on top of the Rio overlooking the strip at sunset. As you can see in the second picture, everyone was 'feeling' really good at this point. I guess that's what happens when you start drinking at 2! I on the otherhand was full from my strawberry-banana smoothie:)

Back to reality

Well, I'm back at work. This means that we did not win it big in Vegas, but we had a great time though! We walked so much my ankles still hurt -has nothing to do with my wedge sandels I wore :) or being pregnant.

I thought that being in Vegas for 3 full days would be a little too long, but it was just the amount of time to shop, eat, gamble, relax and watch everyone drink. We left Sunday night and were exhausted because we had spent the whole day taking care of Ellie. She woke up that morning very crabby and threw up several times. She was so lathargic and just wanted to lay on the couch with one of us. It was very hard to leave her because I've never seen her this sick. She pretty much ate popsicles and laid around all day. The next morning my mom called to say that she was totally back to normal! Sometimes I think Ellie is a really good actress.

We went to the Pawn Shop. Nick and I are really into the Pawn Stars show, so we wanted to check out the place. It's kind of a dump, but it was fun to see.

Here is a picture of us at the buffet at the Wynn. This is after we ate - Nick totally has a fake smile because he is soooo stuffed. I told him that is how I feel everytime I eat because when you are pregnant there isn't much room for food!
