My Jack

I haven't posted individually on Jack or Ellie in awhile so I thought I would give an update. Here's Jack:

  • Turns 2 in less than a month!
  • Still enjoys his nuke, however we've been  weaning him off, especially during the day. He actually just hands it over if you ask him. I could probably push it and have him hand it over for nap time, but why rush it? :)
  • Loves broccoli.
  • Loves salmon.
  • Loves ice cream and Popsicles
  • Sleeps pretty good at night, but hesitates when he thinks people are still up and doing fun things without him.
  • Is started to talk more and more. His most common words lately are Mama, Me-me (for Meeko and himself, Jack points to himself and says Me-me if he wants something or wants to go bye-bye), Please, Night-night, We-we, Ba-ba, Duck, Dog, No, Baby and his favorite is Nigh-nigh no-no.
  • He loves to pat my stomach and say Baby.
  • He is Ellie's little slave. If she wants her blanket or something he will go get it for her. He's so sweet.
  • Loves playing in water and sand.
  • Really enjoys being outside.
  • Is almost always smiling and happy.
  • Has a little bit of a temper if he can't figure something out or gets frustrated. He'll throw things.
  • Likes to gives kisses.
  • Loves brushing his teeth (eating toothpaste). I think they'll have flouride free toothpaste until they are 12.

wendilou wonder: Gratitude

My sister wrote something on her blog last Thursday that everyone needs to read. It was about her gratitude for the things in her life that matter to her. Since then, there has been a big change in her life. I believe that things happen for a reason, even if it's because a big, evil person forces it to happen, I STILL believe things happen for a reason. "Life is about ups and downs". My husband told me this years ago and I still think it holds true:

"If we always had ups, we wouldn't have anything to look forward to."

I live by this whenever there are bad things that happen or if I'm feeling bad about something.
Wendi, I know you are thinking... what a weird coincidence that you wrote that last Thursday. It's not. Things Happen for a Reason. The sun is shining in another field and you will find it soon.

Her blog post:

wendilou wonder: Gratitude: My baby Silas is already 11 months old!  He's the best thing that has ever happened to me.  EVER.  When I have bad days, I remember how...

baby!?

No baby yet! I hit 35 weeks yesterday, which is great, however I am feeling ready. If I can make it to 36 I'll be happy, but 38 would be ideal, although I AM READY. I'm not ready to do the every 2-3 hour feedings, constant diaper changes and basic baby needs, but I know it will go so fast it will be a blur. And the second I'm too exhausted to even think or complain I will remember that this is probably the last baby and I will check myself and just embrace and enjoy it :) Did I mention that I am ready? I'm not really ready at my house though. I still have to move Jack upstairs! His room is painted and his bed is there. I just need to do small things (decorate) and throw a crib sheet down. I'm not sure why I'm dragging my feet on this. I know it doesn't have to be perfect, but I'd like to have everything done before I move him upstairs. I also need to do his closet. We bought the closet stuff from Home Depot, but have to install it. I guess I've been too tired.

Here are some pictures of lately. I still need to post Ellie's 4th birthday pictures that are still on my camera. Coming soon!

Train table that I bought used off of Facebook! Kids love it.

Weekend recap

Friday night we went to Delafield Days. I wasn't sure how the kids would be or how long they would last, but we decided to take them anyways. The Lovemonkeys were playing and they had a wide range of food, including ice cream.  Not only were the kids really good, they lasted until almost 11pm! Ellie LOVES music and she loves to people watch, so it was a great combination. Jack was hesitant from the loud noises and people, but was fine after awhile. We took some chairs and hung out and danced and ate. Kim, Amy, Wendi, Nick and Silas came too. I wish I could have lasted and stayed, like last year, but there is no way with this baby! Next year, we'll have a great time :) Below are a bunch of pictures from the night.

32

I'm trying to enjoy this pregnancy since it most likely will be my last one. I wish it wasn't, but we've been pretty lucky that my pregnancies haven't been too hard. Doing shots and having to take the elevator are not as bad as they could be. I know some are on strict bed rest and have to really change their lifestyle while they are pregnant, but I don't think my body could take another one. The more c-sections you have the riskier it is too. It weakens your uterus, cervix, not to mention your whole abdomen. There is a huge difference between this one and the first pregnancy. I can definitely feel that my tummy is really stretched! My doctor has been talking to me about getting my tubes tied. I'm probably not going to do that as it's so permanent and I think someone needs to come up with birth control for men. Like something they get put into their bodies or medicine that they have to take every day that might make them crazy. At least something that can tone down their drive, if you know what I mean. Where are all the female scientists and doctors? Come on.

I'm now 32 weeks.

My blood has increased by 40-50%! I'm right on schedule as far as size and can't believe that the baby and I will gain more weight. Yuk. I'm not so much looking forward to the after pregnancy body as I know it will be really hard to loose it this time. It's my 3rd, I'm older, stretched out and just plain tired.

The heartburn has gotten worse, but I still keep eating those spicy tacos and late night snacks of peaches and   any other fruit we have in the house. I'm a little addicted to fruit, but it's better than cookies I guess. Don't get me wrong, ice cream is still at the top of my cravings list.

My tentative c-section is scheduled for Aug 27, but that means my doctor won't do the surgery as she'll be on vacation. I'm hoping I will go and she can schedule me for the week before that, but I don't want to go too soon either if no one is ready :) That will put me at 39 weeks.

Update and pictures!

It's been too long since I updated this blog of mine. I'm just going to post a bunch of pictures over the last couple of weeks. It's easier to just look at pictures! :)

Ellie and I at the Hartland Fireworks.
Kim came and picked us up!

Ellie enjoying the slides before the Fireworks started.

Yes, the below picture is of Jack wearing a bright pink Hello Kitty top. Judge all you want, but it was the only thing I had for him to wear and I didn't want him to get burned. HAHA. I felt bad but we weren't there long and he didn't care :) Clearly, he loves it. This is at the splash pad in Jackson. Hartland just opened one and I'm super pumped to take them there, but we haven't had the chance yet!

Happy Birthday to my MOM!

Below are just some shots of Nick and the kids playing on the playset. They really still love playing on it. I'm so glad we got it. When I look at these pictures I realize how fast time is going by and am sad. I love this age for Jack. Ellie is still kind of hard and sassy, but Jack is the sweetest little boy ever.
