Today.

I wasn't going to post until after the baby came, but I thought as I sit and get my toes painted I would throw a picture out there too. I'm not getting a full blown pedi because I have a big mosquito bite I scratched and the last thing I need is an infection! I got my eye brows waxed this morning too. Just some last minute maintenance items before baby #3 comes. After this I'm going to go home hang out with the kids and get my bag packed.
I'm pretty nervous. More then I thought. I'm scared of the spinal shot, scared of the surgery and anxious to meet the new baby. I feel like its gone fast, but my body  is so ready. I'm extremely sore. My whole body just aches. Recovery is going to suck for awhile but at least my body will be on its way to heal.

Ellie and Jack are excited. Ellie knows that the baby is coming from the hospital but I would love to know what she really thinks happens. It is hard to comprehend.

Update to come soon!!

C-section

My c-section is scheduled for Monday, the 26th! It's at night, which is kinda nice but then I remembered that I won't be able to eat 12 hours before - UM. no, that's not happening. Hopefully I don't throw up in the OR. So, my Doc is on vacation now and I'll have another doctor. I hope she is a good surgeon.

I'm super excited and oh so nervous. The spinal shot was not so great with Jack and of course anyone that has surgery (especially a c-section) the recovery is brutal, not to mention all the drugs they pump into you. Oh and then you have to wake up a lot and take care of a newborn! When God created this scenario, I think something got twisted. I'm not a feminist at all, but men have it SO easy.

So! Wendi helped finish Jack's closet yesterday and I'm going to go to Target and hopefully get some cute baskets or bins. Toddler clothes is so little that you need an organizer of some sort. Also, last night Ellie's new preschool teacher came to our house. I guess they do that now? I didn't know. She's super nice. She is Korean and Ellie kept asking if she was Japanese. It was funny. When she left though, Ellie said she 'didn't like that kind.' She doesn't mean that she's Korean or anything, it just takes her time to get use to some people I think. I'm sure she'll do fine at school! I hope. I'm nervous though. She'll be going to preschool 3 - half days and then the other time her same daycare.

Friday my little Jack turns 2! We are having a small get together at Nick's parents house. She's doing all the cooking, which is SO nice for us. I couldn't do it now even if I tried. Bending over is getting almost impossible and I'm still sore from the weight and pressure of this big little girl. I bet she's at least 8.5 lbs now.  I can't wait to meet her : )

Some pics of the kids in their pjs. Ellie got some new ones and I finally talked her into wearing them! Jack looks up to Ellie so much. He would do anything for her.

37 and 5 days

WOW. I can't believe I'm almost 38 weeks and the baby is the size of a winter melon (whatever that means!) I love how they say the average weight is 6.2 - 9.2 lbs. I think I'm probably closer to the larger scale. Jack was born 10 days early and was a whopping 9.4 lbs. If I had to guess I would say this baby will be 8.8 lbs. Since my c-section is scheduled for August 27th and my due date is September 1, that's only 6 days early. I'm pretty excited to meet the baby. I wish it were happening this weekend. I'm going to try to walk and eat some extra spicy food. Ellie is getting really excited too. She always asks if she can hold the baby and questions like: Where are her hands? Is she sleeping? Did the baby give you those owies on your tummy? (my stretch marks), Is she moving? WHEN IS SHE COMING?!

Jack knows there is a baby inside and he will pat my tummy and say "baby", but I think he is in for a rude awakening! I'm glad he's now upstairs out of his old room, which will soon be occupied by the baby. He has had a few nights where he cries and I usually have to sit with him for a little bit before bed. We are still working on his closet. It's pretty much done, but there a few things that need to complete it, like hang the bars for clothes, paint and secure the closet organizers in place.

baby!?

No baby yet! I hit 35 weeks yesterday, which is great, however I am feeling ready. If I can make it to 36 I'll be happy, but 38 would be ideal, although I AM READY. I'm not ready to do the every 2-3 hour feedings, constant diaper changes and basic baby needs, but I know it will go so fast it will be a blur. And the second I'm too exhausted to even think or complain I will remember that this is probably the last baby and I will check myself and just embrace and enjoy it :) Did I mention that I am ready? I'm not really ready at my house though. I still have to move Jack upstairs! His room is painted and his bed is there. I just need to do small things (decorate) and throw a crib sheet down. I'm not sure why I'm dragging my feet on this. I know it doesn't have to be perfect, but I'd like to have everything done before I move him upstairs. I also need to do his closet. We bought the closet stuff from Home Depot, but have to install it. I guess I've been too tired.

Here are some pictures of lately. I still need to post Ellie's 4th birthday pictures that are still on my camera. Coming soon!

Train table that I bought used off of Facebook! Kids love it.

32

I'm trying to enjoy this pregnancy since it most likely will be my last one. I wish it wasn't, but we've been pretty lucky that my pregnancies haven't been too hard. Doing shots and having to take the elevator are not as bad as they could be. I know some are on strict bed rest and have to really change their lifestyle while they are pregnant, but I don't think my body could take another one. The more c-sections you have the riskier it is too. It weakens your uterus, cervix, not to mention your whole abdomen. There is a huge difference between this one and the first pregnancy. I can definitely feel that my tummy is really stretched! My doctor has been talking to me about getting my tubes tied. I'm probably not going to do that as it's so permanent and I think someone needs to come up with birth control for men. Like something they get put into their bodies or medicine that they have to take every day that might make them crazy. At least something that can tone down their drive, if you know what I mean. Where are all the female scientists and doctors? Come on.

I'm now 32 weeks.

My blood has increased by 40-50%! I'm right on schedule as far as size and can't believe that the baby and I will gain more weight. Yuk. I'm not so much looking forward to the after pregnancy body as I know it will be really hard to loose it this time. It's my 3rd, I'm older, stretched out and just plain tired.

The heartburn has gotten worse, but I still keep eating those spicy tacos and late night snacks of peaches and   any other fruit we have in the house. I'm a little addicted to fruit, but it's better than cookies I guess. Don't get me wrong, ice cream is still at the top of my cravings list.

My tentative c-section is scheduled for Aug 27, but that means my doctor won't do the surgery as she'll be on vacation. I'm hoping I will go and she can schedule me for the week before that, but I don't want to go too soon either if no one is ready :) That will put me at 39 weeks.

Baby #3

Last week I had another 'big' ultrasound with the specialist. It was mostly to check on the location of my placenta and my cervix. Everything looked good! My placenta has moved up a bit and shouldn't be an issue. My cervix length looked good too. I still need to take it easy, but everything seems good for now. We got to see more pictures of our baby girl. She weighs almost 3 lbs! She's been kicking a lot and a couple times have hurt. Getting up at night is an every other hour ordeal. I'm 29 weeks already, but kinda of feel like I've been pregnant for awhile. I'm trying to really enjoy this one, since it may be my last.

Third semester!!

I'm 28 weeks this semester which means I'm in my last semester! Woohoo! I think it's actually going fast, but maybe that's because life is going really fast. I'm definitely feeling super pregnant, sleeping at night isn't really happening, constant bathroom stops, some headaches,  still wearing my rings, but those are getting tight and feeling exhausted mid-day. We still have a lot to prepare, like Jack's new room upstairs. We havent touched it! I hope to make progress in the next couple of weeks. I'm anxious to get Jack moved upstairs so he can get use to his new room before the baby comes. I hope it's an easy transition like it was for Ellie.

Update

For those of you that have been bugging me about updating my blog, I finally found the time!!  With my new job, the kids and just being exhausted I just couldn't fit it in. I've been thinking about updating it though, so I think that counts for something!

Let's see... where do I start?!

WORK:
Today marks 1 month. I can finally say that I don't hate it. It was extremely hard, but I'm getting to a place where I feel comfortable and am getting to know my new  co-workers. I think the hardest thing for me is how much this job is making me grow and really get out of my comfort zone. I would definitely call it growing pains, but it is making me a better person, web developer, manager and teaching me so much. I think it's going to be great once things start to settle down and I figure out the routine and my purpose.

HOME:
Ellie and Jack have had colds this week. Ellie's voice is changing. Maybe it's from the cold, but it's kind of creepy. Jack is so sweet when he's sick. I tried giving him some natural, honey cough medicine with a syringe and forced it in his mouth, it shot out his nose! Poor baby, bad mama. I felt so bad. It really sucked for him.

Ellie weighs 30 lbs and Jack weighs 26 lbs! Just some stats.

BABY #3:
I'm almost 28 weeks, bigger than ever!
I had a check up on Monday. Cervix is still short, meaning no lifting, no hanky panky, take the elevators, take it easy! (yah right)

Here's a conversation between my Dr and I.

Me: So my cervix is measuring at 3.75?
DR. No, it's actually not that high, it's about 3.05.
Me: Oh, yah I guess that is a big difference, especially since the measurements are small and are in inches.
DR. Actually they are in centimeters.
Me. Oh crap.

Wednesday morning I had some watery blood. I freaked out a little. Went to the doctor, got looked at. Everything was good.

Thursday mid morning I started cramping. The same cramping I had the morning I had Jack. I decided to go in again to get checked. All I could think about was, they better not feel or see a baby head, because that is what happened with Jack. Everything checked out ok. She's putting me on some medicine that should help with the cramps.

I'm pretty excited that it's almost the weekend. I wish I could do more things. Paint Jack's new room, organize, go shopping or something. I have to take it easy. That's just not me, especially when I'm pregnant, I always feel like I need to get stuff done. I do however feel like I could get a cleaning person. Just once a week to do my floors, bathrooms and dusting. I need to talk to Nick about that one. If he says no, then he can do it. :) I'll find him a YouTube video about cleaning toilets, he already knows how to vacuum (really well too), and washing the floors isn't that complicated either, it's kind of like raking.

Some sad news: Nick's 39 year old cousin, Jason passed away. He had throat cancer several years ago and had some complications recently. Very sad. He left a 9 year little girl behind. Cancer sucks so bad.

Have a good weekend!!

Half way

So, I'm over half way through now. I'll be 22 weeks! It has gone kind of fast. This last weekend is when I really started to feel pregnant. I've got the waddle down now and I find it harder to breathe as baby crowds my lungs. I feel kicking all day long and enjoying it. It's not the 'hurting' kicking, so it's nice to feel the baby move. I haven't really been swelling, so I'm happy about that. With Ellie I was already swollen and couldn't put my rings on.  We've come up with a name, but not sharing. I actually have 2 names in mind, but Nick prefers one over the other. The more I think about it, the more I want the one he isn't too excited about. He doesn't really want to tell anyone the names, but I think we should have a voting contest! Maybe I can convince him:)

I have another ultrasound on Monday to check my placenta and cervix and I will be starting those shots soon too. Our insurance is kind of in limbo right now, since I'm switching jobs. It's a pain! Only 2 more days of work and then I'm off for 3 days and then start my new job. I'm excited, but find my self loosing sleep because I'm a little stressed and anxious. Retail therapy next week will help. I'm excited to spend the day shopping with Wendi and doing whatever we want!

Second trimester

I'm officially in my second trimester! I have the BabyCenter app on my phone that gives me updates on the baby, my body and tracks my pregnancy. It is so accurate! For example today it says that "the top of my uterus is a bit above my pubic bone, which may be enough to push your tummy out a tad". TRUE! I know that this is my third and I don't have a long torso, but I'm definitely showing already. My energy is not totally back, but instead of crashing at like 5pm I crash at like 8:30pm - weekends are no exceptions. I went out for a birthday party Saturday night and didn't get to bed until midnight. I was really feeling it on Sunday, luckily the whole family got a 2 hour nap in :)  I have a check up on Wednesday, so hopefully I'll find out when my big ultrasound is scheduled for and when we can find out if it's a boy or a girl! Up until last week, Ellie kept telling me that the baby was going to be a boy, but she just recently said it was a girl and that we would name her "Dolly". She's so funny.

Jack likes to cuddle after his nap.
Ellie gets a cookie at the grocery store. Lucky girl.

And then there were five...

We are adding on! This is exciting and scary news!  We were going to wait awhile, because life with a 3 year old and a 1 year old is hectic, but some times the unplanned things are the best things in life. This pregnancy has been hard, probably because I'm older and have zero abs. Tiredness doesn't even begin to describe how I feel somedays. I hope it will soon pass and I'll get more energy. Ellie is excited, but wants a "Hello Kitty baby boy". I'm not sure where I can get one of those, but that is what she requested. I'm due the same date that Jack was due: September 1. I will be having another planned c-section and have a feeling it will be early, probably middle to end of August. This is the image I sent out to my co-workers today:
