Fridays

Since I will be going on maternity leave this summer, I figure I should be back to working 5 days a week. That doesn't mean that I won't take vacation ( a lot). Work is fun on Fridays, but being able to do whatever I want with the kids is way more fun. Last week we hung out at my friend Amy's house. Her little girl Aubrey is the cutest and Ellie really liked her. They are still working on the 'sharing' thing, but when it came time to jump on couches they were just fine! Jack chose his own toys and is fine with just having a stick of some sort. He found a yard stick in Gavyn's room and played with it until I had to sneak it away. The picture below is when they were waiting for Gavyn to get off the bus. Ellie LOVES yellow school buses so she was very excited.

Finally Friday!

When I hear the words Finally Friday, I always get a flash back to the country song that goes like "Finally Friday, I'm free again, got my motor running for a wild weekend!" remember that? George Straight sings it. It reminds me of being at my friend Kim's house in high school and getting excited for the weekend.

I've been ready for Friday all week and we even had off on Monday! It's been a long week of work and more work. I just started a new website that is scheduled to launch in February and all I can think about is Thanksgiving and Christmas! I'm getting the itch to go shopping for Christmas already, this is bad considering  September just started. My Thursday night class is going good. I have a good group of students and they all seem really excited and engaged in learning so I must be doing something right. Last night was pretty interesting as one of my students explained that he missed class last week because he was in jail for 2 nights and didn't have his phone or computer to contact me. Of course I looked him up on c-cap and sure enough he has an OWI, non-registered vehicle and even posted bail. I also think he was going through withdrawals last night, but he stayed and caught up on the assignments and did a decent job.

Nick is taking an Anatomy class this semester to learn more for his job or maybe he'll go be a doctor or something. haha. It's only 2 nights a week, but we miss him when he's gone.

Next week, I will be starting my 4 day work week. I can not wait. My hopes and goals are to play with Ellie and Jack, organize things, deep clean things (cabinets, floors, areas that need a scrub down), try to potty train Ellie and maybe even get Ellie to start watching Disney movies. I know it's weird, but she just isn't into TV that much. Sometimes I wish she were and we could just watch it and veg out.

Happy Friday everyone!

Me and baby Silas.

Finally Friday

This past week has been exciting, depressing and crazy. Here's my list:

8/21: Baby Silas arrives!
8/22: Baby Silas has to stay in the NICU for a couple days
8/23: My baby boy turns 1 years old. Too fast.
8/24: I find out that someone at work has colon cancer. YUK
8/25: Baby Silas comes home!
8/27: Jack Bartosz becomes an angel
8/28: Give baby Silas his first bath
8/29: Lunch w/ a close friend; it's been too long, so good to see him.
8/30: Second night of teaching. It was nerve racking, but I'm getting back into the groove!

I'm ready for September, I'm ready for the seasons to change and the leaves to fall. My favorite time of year is Fall and it's only a couple days away. I consider September to be Fall time, even though it really isn't. I love the crisp air, walks at night when the kids need a blanket in the stroller, comfy clothes, Halloween, football games (only for napping time), Nick's birthday and the time right before the holidays when life gets crazy busy.

Friday

The talk didn't work :(  Jack woke up at 12am on the dot and 2am and then at 3 to eat. There was no way I could have pacified him any longer. I guess it's just a combination of teeth, bad habits and a growing spurt. I just don't like it. He eats like a cow during the day with my mom, so he shouldn't be so hungry!

Oh well....

I'm looking forward to the weekend. Don't have much planned. We might go to Mitsuwa (Japanese grocery store) and I need to get 2 more pillows from Ikea. Nick wants to watch golf all day, so maybe he can stay home with Jack. I have some wedding things to do and I need to finalize my MOH toast. Wendi has almost everything set from the centerpieces, catering list and wedding day itinery, I can't believe the wedding is in 2 weeks!! It's going to be so exciting and I can't wait to see everyone. And then after the wedding, we'll move on to baby things... showers, shopping, nursery decorating OH MY! love it.

Happy FRIDAY peeps and Happy Easter!

I've seen this a million times and it still cracks me up.

Friday!

I L.O.V.E fridays. I also love Saturdays. I'm so thankful for the weekends where we can do whatever we want with our lovies.

Fridays are usually movie night.... if we can make it through the first half hour, we're doing good.  Usually that doesn't happen.

nigh-night!
