Ellie goes skiing

Well, we didn't get much 'deep cleaning' or organizing done like I mentioned on Friday's post. We did however get Ellie's new skis and out on the hill. I thought the hardest part of going skiing would be just getting her gear on. She is very picky, but she was just fine! I wish I would have gotten a picture of Ellie in just her snowpants. They are dark pink and just so cute. Her skis are black and reddish/orange, definitly more boyish, but that's ok. When she gets older we'll get her a cuter, girly pair. Wendi took her out for about 20 minutes or so. It was a little chilly and we didn't want to overwhelm her. For the next several hours we hung out in the lodge. It's a nice atmosphere because it's a members only hill and there are so many families and kids. They have a huge gourmet kitchen and so many pizza ovens. The fireplace is nice and cozy, so Jack slept most of the time. I'm excited to spend more time there on the weekends.

Getting ready to go outside!

Sun is bright and it's hard to move in all this stuff!

Finally friday

I'm so glad it's friday. The last couple weeks have been a little rough. I started working out again, taking 3 workout classes during my lunch at work and my body is still in shock. I think it's still thinking WTF just happened? Losing the baby weight the 2nd time around is hard, but hopefully I will get there. I still don't understand why they can't just take some 'extra' stuff out during the c-section, I mean, what's the big deal? I asked my OB that right before the surgery and she laughed, but I was dead serious when I told her I would pay her cash on the 'side' if she did it. Well I'm on a mission to lose another 30.

I'm excited to get stuff done around the house this weekend. I need to do some organizing and deep cleaning. I'm also very excited to spend it with these two. love them.

Baby teeth

Sunday night was probably one of the worst nights I have ever had with one of the kids. Ellie and Jack are both sick. Ellie started getting sick on Saturday with a cold and has now transferred it over to Jack. She gets a cold about every other week and it's from daycare. It's really, really annoying, but I know this is just something that every kid goes through when they are in daycare or start school.

Anyhow... Jack has been drooling like crazy, and when I say crazy I mean a large amount of saliva that soaks through a bib in about 30 minutes. I put some baby teeth orajel on his sore little gums, hoping that might help a little. We went through the normal night time routine, play, bath, play, bottle, night-night. Then at about 10:30 he was crying in pain. I burped him and rocked a little... from then on he was up every hour, just really uncomfortable. A bottle didn't help, he threw up a couple of times and was in pain. The only thing that helped was if I held him over my shoulder. I pretty much lived in the rocking chair. I'm not really sure why I didn't think of giving him some tylenol (probably because I hate giving medicine). Last night was a little better. I gave him some tylenol and he only woke up at midnight. I wish those little teeth would just pop through! Here are some pictures of baby Jack. BTW - he is now 5 months old!!

Great news!!

This weekend was extra special because Wendi got engaged to "her" Nick. I'm really excited for both of them and can't wait to help with the planning..... I hope they get married here (see below).

Ski bunny

I can't believe it's a new week already. The weekends go way to fast.

Saturday, Nick and I took Ellie out shopping for the day. I think she felt pretty special, because it was just us 3. We were on the hunt for some skis and boots. Les Moise and Laacke & Joys didn't have any in her size. We were planning on renting them, since she'll grow out of them fast, but I think we will have to order them online. Hopefully Jack won't be too much bigger than Ellie and will be able to use them too. We did find a helmet and goggles for her. The helmet is white w/ some turqouise design on the back. It's also adjustable, so she will probably be able to use it for several years. We ended up getting black goggles (unlike the pink in the picture). She really wanted pink, but I was using my forward thinking and knew black would be the best. I'm excited to take her out skiing, but still need to get her skis, boots and a pair of snow pants or a snow suit.

Back to work (again)

Well, I've only been back to work for a day and a half and it doesn't even feel like I had off for 11 days. I know I shouldn't complain since I had a long 4 month maternity leave. Thank god my vacation days start over in January and I have 6 weeks this year! (this does include any sick days I have to take though too) It sounds like a lot of time off, but I will go through them fast. I'm already trying to plan a mini-vaca. Skiing would be great since I didn't go at all last year (I was too busy baking baby Jack). I have to get going on research (I'd love to go to Utah) and then of course convince Nick.

Here are some pictures of Ellie and Jack just being goofy.

monkey see monkey do!

Ellie is saying "EYE, WOVE, U!"

Jack is falling and Ellie is trying to lift him up by his head (good thing he has a big head). haha!
