This is what Jack is telling me...

Mama, I need a new car seat! I know that my Chicco car seats fits up to 30 lbs, but I'm too tall and I want something with more room. Can we upgrade?



I've been on the look out for a new car seat for Jack. Nick's brother had an extra one that he didn't need, so I put that one in my Mom's car.  It's a lot like this Combi one, but slightly lighter color. It's nice because it's brand new and was still in the box!

 So, I want a convertible car seat that will last and that's safe. These are the two I'm looking at...

Memorial Day weekend

I love 3 day weekends, but they go just as fast as a regular weekend. This last weekend we spent a lot of time with family and doing some yard work. Ellie and Jack were so tired by Monday. Below are some pictures from the weekend.....

Tall Jack and bruised Ellie

Jack had his 9 month check up on Friday. He got a couple vaccinations too. Luckily he didn't get a fever, but he was a little crabby Saturday morning. Jack is in the 99 percentile for height! WOW! I knew he was big, but didn't realize he was that tall... he's catching up to me!  The doctor told us to try to limit his nukie to nap time or bed time. I think this is a good idea because of the whole 'bad for your teeth' thing and also so he talks. We actually could tell a difference this weekend by not giving it to him as much and he was babbling a lot! We also need to work on crawling. He loves to stand as you can see in the video below, but all he does is roll around. He hasn't figured out that he can actually move faster if he's on his knees.

Here's a combo video of Jack standing and Ellie right after she ran right into the side of the door. She got a pretty big bump on her head. She's also picking a scab (gross) from another injury that happened a couple days before. Ellie has so many bumps and bruises, I hope people don't start thinking anything. Nick is also explaining how bruises happen. LOL. I don't think he knew I was recording. omg.lol.seriously.weirdo.

Ellie and her Auntie We-we

Ellie LOVES Wendi. She asks about her all the time. She pretends to talk to her on the phone with her notebook, blanket or whatever she picks up. She asks to go to "we-we's housfe" all the time and will immediately do whatever I ask if I tell her that we are going by "we-we's". He makes my heart skip....

9 months!

My little Jackaroo is 9 months today. He is growing so fast. I wish I could just stop time for a little bit. Although he is getting so big, he's still my little baby. Here are some stats on Jack:

1. Not yet crawling, but rolling and rolling and sitting. Very strong legs and can almost stand on his own.
2. Eating 1st stage foods... thinking about transitioning to 2nd real soon. Eats 2, sometimes 3 containers.
3. Almost 4 teeth. Two on the bottom, one trying to poke through on the top middle and an eye tooth!
4. Smiles constantly and giggles at Ellie alot.
5. Peach fuzz hair is coming in really thick and a little hint of reds.
6. Eyes are sort of bluish-brown. I think they will be brown.
7. Size 3 diaper (same as Ellie).
8. Weighs about 22 lbs. (feels like 50 lbs.)
9. Goes to bed around 8:30-9 pm and sleeps until about 7-8 am.
10. Almost time to get a new car seat. The infant one seems a little small and definitely too heavy to carry!
11. Loves to bounce in the pink bouncer!
12. Loves being in the baby bjorn without socks.
13. Naps for about 2 hours in the morning and another 2 hour in the late afternoon (if Ellie lets him).
14. Likes his nukie.
15. Always happy in the morning.
16. Sometimes crabby after bath time because he wants to stay in and play.
17. A definite observer. Likes to people and dog watch.
18. Loves Ellie soooo much.
    

Happy Monday!

I love having off on Fridays. We headed over to Nick's parent's house now that they are back from Arizona. Ellie and Jack haven't seen them in over 5 months! Ellie totally remembered them, but Jack was clueless and a little scared. I think he is starting his 'stranger - danger' stage. He cried a lot for his Mama. We went for walks, played in the bounce house, cooked, snacked, hung-out outside and relaxed. It was a really nice Friday.  Saturday we went to the Brewer's game for a friend's surprise 30th birthday. It was a really long day, but so much fun. Taking a bus and tailgating is a blast! Sunday wasn't a day of re-coop, but a day to do some landscaping at my parent's house. We got a lot done and the yard is starting to look better already for summer. I hope this week flies by because we are coming up on another 3 day weekend with Memorial day. Yippie!

Innocence

My dad likes to come over and take Ellie to the park or to go get ice cream. He always texts me some pictures when they are on their outings. Ellie looks so innocent and happy! I love Ellie and my dad for spending time and making these memories.

This boy...

Is a 'nukie' boy. He likes it and usually wants it. He will find it if it's in his crib, laying on the floor or on his lap in his car seat. Because he loves it. He really, really likes it. We have many laying around the house and always try to have 3 when we leave the house in case we lose one. I bought this nukie leash this weekend and I think it's his new best friend. He loves it. Just as much as his nukie. He's silly. Nukie lover.

Splish Splash!

I love first times! Last night was the first time Jack took a bath in the big bath tub with Ellie. Ellie was hesitant to take a bath, but as soon as she saw Jack in his new seat in the tub, she wanted to jump in. I thought Jack might be a little scared, but he squealed when I put him in. They both really liked it and had a lot of fun!

Mommie's Day at Bubba's

For Mother's Day we all headed out to Bubba's for my free ice cream! Ellie LOVED it. She likes to bite my ice cream cone rather than lick. I think it's so she can get more of it at one time :)  Jack looked really interested in trying it, but I told him he had to wait until he was 1 year old. My babies are so cute. I'm one lucky Mama! 

Fun weekend!

Everything was perfect this weekend! The shopping, food and company. It was Jack's second trip to Ikea and he loved it. He sat in Ikea's blue high chair and people watched. Nick carried him in the baby bjorn at Ikea and Woodfield mall. It was kind of nice not having to lug around a stroller and Ellie did really good at walking, except when she walked into this light fixture. I was so mad, I hit it and kind of looked like a pyscho mom, but I felt so bad for her. I think her glasses saved her face. She felt a lot better once she knew we were going to the Sanrio store (aka Hello Kitty's store). It was Ellie's first time at the Sanrio store and she loved it. We ended our day at Sushi Kushi Toyo in Lake Forest. They have the most authentic Japanese food. It was really yummy!

Mommies

BABY JACK

With Mother's Day right around the corner, I can't help but think about Ellie and Jack and what it means to be a mommy. I still consider myself a 'new' mommy, but I think I might always feel that way. I will always be learning and adapting to my growing babies. I took this picture of Jack the other night and had tears in my eyes because I just ordered a baby bath seat for him.  I figured I could give both Ellie and Jack a bath in the big tub, but the baby bath seat would help since Jack isn't totally stable on his own. I think it would be fun for both of them and for me, but that means no more Mommy and Jack time in the sink :( 



Little Elliana



Ellie is growing so fast too! She can totally eat on her own (as long as she has a napkin to wipe up the spills - she's a little OCD. Not sure where she gets that from. )

The hardest thing I've ever done is being a mom, but it is by far the best thing I've ever done in my life. EVER.
